Brunel Insurance Brokers has 8 offices around the UK- this role is required at our Penzance site.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • To have the ability to renew existing policies at all levels of premiums but with the technical knowledge, aptitude and competence to handle the larger clients – Silver, Gold and Platinum.
  • Be able to invite renewals and gather information from clients.
  • To understand the nature of the client’s business, minimum regulatory standards and requirements in respect of wording, excess, limit of indemnity and wherever possible exceed them.
  • Research insurance companies’ policies and negotiate with underwriters to provide sufficient information for clients in order that they may make an informed decision. Also ensure regular contact and necessary paperwork.
  • To arrange insurance cover for regular and more complex cases that may involve preparing technical and detailed reports for insurance underwriters and/or negotiating with Insurers.
  • Be able to produce company approved documentation for clients, Insurers and Underwriters at all stages of negotiations.
  • Build and maintain on going relationships with clients including scheduling and attending meetings.
  • Be able to use time served, acquired Insurance knowledge to give added value to clients and colleagues.
  • Be able to understand the requirements of performance and targets required individually and by department and meet those requirements
  • Advising clients whether and when they need to make a claim on their policies.
  • Maintain and develop relationships with underwriters and Insurers and attending meetings, if required.
  • Be able to complete administrative tasks and data entry to the company’s systems.
  • Have the ability to check and verify documentation received or produced internally.
  • To perform all Broker ad hoc or necessary duties as they arise.
  • To deputise for your Manager as and when required.
  • To act as a conduit for your Manager on a day to day basis.
  • To attend and deputise, if necessary, at meetings as indicated by your Manager or Directors.
  • To have the ability to mentor and train departmental colleagues and enhance the knowledge of colleagues
  • To meet renewal sales targets and to provide up to date figures, activities and performance figures and additional information as requested by Managers and/or Directors.
  • To deal with general queries and mid-term adjustments on behalf of clients.
  • To ensure any Broker Assistance is competent to follow and instigate instructions’, practices and process and to notify and/or assist should any training requirements be necessary

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years’ experience of being a Account Executive
