Join our dedicated team as a Deputy Manager, where you will play a crucial role in supporting the Manager to uphold the highest standards of care and professionalism. This position offers the opportunity to lead and inspire a team, ensuring the delivery of exceptional care and support to residents.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Management: Act as a visible leader in the home, providing guidance and support to the team. Ensure all human resource processes are managed effectively including recruitment, induction, mentoring, and training.
- Operational Excellence: Oversee the implementation of policies and procedures, ensuring all staff are familiar and compliant. Manage staffing rosters to align with resident needs and legal requirements.
- Communication: Maintain excellent communication within the team and with external stakeholders. Chair regular meetings, manage communications via emails and team chats, and ensure effective dissemination of information.
- Regulatory Compliance: Take charge in the absence of the Home Manager, ensuring all operations continue smoothly and in line with regulatory standards.
- HR Management: Serve as the primary contact for HR concerns within the home, utilising external HR support and liaising with the internal HR team as necessary.
- Audit and Reporting: Complete and submit required audits and reports, maintaining compliance with the company’s standards.
- Resident and Family Liaison: Engage with residents, families, and carers to ensure their needs are met and maintain open lines of communication.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a leadership role within a healthcare or care home setting.
- Strong understanding of health and social care legislation and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lead and manage a team effectively where needed.
- Experience in HR processes and staff management.
- Competency in IT and office software, with the ability to manage electronic rota systems and staff records.
