Class 1 HIAB Driver

My client is recruiting a CLASS 1 HIAB DRIVER for their site based in Pershore.

The role will be delivering Steel around the UK.

This is a temp to perm vacancy and a permanent role will be offered after probationary period is complete.

The working week os Monday to Friday with overtime over 40 hours and for any weekend hours

Some nights out will be required.

Pay rate negotiable dependent on experience

. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and the ability to navigate various routes while adhering to delivery schedules.

Responsibilities

Operate flatbed lorries in a safe and efficient manner, ensuring compliance with all traffic laws and regulations.
Load and unload cargo, securing it properly to prevent damage during transit.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of hours worked and mileage driven.
Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
Adhere to company policies and procedures regarding safety and operational standards.
Experience

Previous experience as a delivery driver or in commercial driving is preferred.
Familiarity with flatbed lorry operations is highly desirable.
A valid commercial driving licence (CDL) is required.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail are essential for maintaining accurate delivery records.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating excellent communication skills.
