Site Engineer – Perth (Permanent)

 Our client, a privately-owned civil engineering contractor operating across Scotland, is seeking a Site Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis in Perth. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working on Scottish Water Framework projects and a strong background in civil engineering.

 As a Site Engineer, you will be part of a team delivering safe, efficient, and on-time water and wastewater infrastructure projects. You will thrive in a supportive, collaborative environment that encourages creativity and innovation, with the ultimate goal of providing high-quality, cutting-edge engineering solutions to clients.

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Setting out and surveying works on site.
  • Maintaining a safe working environment and overseeing health and safety compliance.
  • Ensuring quality control of works.
  • Implementing strategies as agreed with management.
  • Liaising with site staff and subcontractors.
  • Checking design plans, drawings, and quantities for accuracy.
  • Producing 2D & 3D site sketches.
  • Developing method statements and risk assessments.
  • Supporting the team and performing other site engineering duties as required.
  • Undertaking material reconciliations and controlling waste on site.
  • Communicating regularly with the client.
  • Mentoring and training junior staff when required. 

Candidate Requirements:

  • Educated to a minimum of HNC level in Civil Engineering.
  • Previous experience on Scottish Water projects is essential.
  • Experienced in a heavy civil engineering environment.
  • Strong experience in setting-out and surveying.
  • PTS, CSCS, SMSTS, and First Aid qualifications are advantageous.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD.
  • Flexible to work at various locations as required.
  • Full UK driver’s licence.
