We are on the lookout for a detail-oriented and proactive Interim Management Accountant to join this finance team! This is your chance to play a pivotal role in managing financial processes, ensuring accurate reporting, and providing insights that drive strategic decision-making. You'll be a key support to the Financial Controller, with hands-on and varied responsibilities that will keep you engaged and challenged every day.

Responsibilities:

  • Dive into management accounts production, including monthly management meetings.
  • Take charge of accounts payable, from posting up to invoice approval.
  • Master bank reconciliations.
  • Handle accruals, prepayments, and all month-end journal adjustments.
  • Monitor and report on business costs.
  • Lead weekly supplier payment runs.
  • Keep track of key financial calendar dates, dealing with filings.
  • Prepare quarterly VAT returns.
  • Forecast and monitor cashflow.
  • Update staff benefits.
  • Assist with process changes.
  • Support the monthly financial close process, including General Ledger journal entries, supporting documentation, and subsequent P&L and Balance Sheet reconciliations.
  • Analyse P&L and Balance Sheet variances, providing clear, concise commentary to aid understanding of key drivers.
  • Communicate effectively with other site offices and the rest of the Finance team.
  • Respond to ad-hoc information requests and perform ad-hoc data analysis.

Requirements:

  • Minimum AAT qualification with solid work experience.
  • Qualified / Part Qualified accountant with strong financial and management accounting background (ACA, ACMA, ACCA or 3 years management accounting and finance experience).
  • Experience working in high-performing teams, with a willingness to help and an appreciation of the importance of deadlines and commitments.
  • Ability to multi-task and operate in a calm and friendly manner.
  • Flexible approach to a varied role.
  • Professional and mature manner.
