Service Advisor
Salary: Up to £35,000
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm
Contract:Â Permanent
We’re looking for an experienced Service Advisor to join an independent automotive workshop in Peterborough. The site includes a well-equipped workshop, a professional service reception, admin offices and meeting rooms.
You’ll be the key point of contact for customers, ensuring their experience is smooth and professional from start to finish. Working closely with our technicians, you’ll manage bookings, prepare job cards, and keep customers updated on progress.
A good understanding of IT systems is essential, as much of your day will involve using workshop management software to record jobs, raise invoices and track service work.
Job Description
As a Service Advisor, your main responsibilities will include:
- Greeting customers and handling incoming service enquiries
- Booking vehicles in for repair, service, and MOT
- Communicating clearly with technicians and workshop staff
- Preparing job cards, estimates, and invoices accurately
- Keeping customers updated on progress, costs, and completion times
- Managing warranty claims and ensuring all documentation is complete
- Using IT systems to update service records and maintain accurate customer data
- Providing a professional, friendly and helpful service at all times
- Supporting the team in ensuring smooth day-to-day workshop operations
About You
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has previous experience as a Service Advisor within the automotive industry (cars or LCVs)
- Is confident using IT systems and comfortable learning new software
- Has excellent communication and organisational skills
- Works well under pressure and enjoys being part of a busy team
- Takes pride in delivering excellent customer service
