We are looking to recruit a proactive and experienced Site Agent to join a team working on the Eastern Highways Alliance based in Peterborough. The ideal candidate will be an individual who has prior knowledge and experience in the civil engineering sector, specifically in highways, infrastructure, or local authority projects.
About the role of Site Agent
The current role will require the Site Agent to take ownership of the on-site delivery of works within the Eastern Highways Alliance. These projects are to be in and around the Peterborough area. A successful Site Agent will be responsible for managing day-to-day operations on-site, ensuring safety, quality, and progress, as well as being a key point of contact for subcontractors, suppliers, and client representatives.
Responsibilities for Site Agent
- Overseeing on-site works, including highways maintenance and new highway construction
- Managing subcontractors, site teams, temporary works, and stakeholder engagement
- Implementing site programmes and cost estimates to assist Project Managers
- Ensuring health and safety compliance, conducting daily briefings and site inspections
- Monitoring site progress against project plans and reporting to senior management
- Managing site documentation, permits, and compliance with CDM regulations
- Liaising with clients and professional stakeholders to ensure expectations are met
- Ensuring delivery is in line with quality procedures and specifications (including ITPs, RAMS, WPPs, Task Briefs)
- Supporting site reporting and KPIs to the Site Delivery Team
Requirements for Site Agent
- Proven experience in civil engineering site roles
- Experience with highways and local authority projects
- CSCS, SMSTS, and First Aid certifications
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Working knowledge of CDM Regulations and quality systems
