Electrical Panel Wireman / Installation Engineer – Peterborough

Location: Peterborough (with UK Site Work as Required)
Contract: Ongoing Contract (Long-Term Opportunity)
Rate: £22.00p/h (Umbrella / LTD)
Hours: Monday to Friday – 10-hour days (occasional weekend work for site projects)

Our client is a well-established engineering business supplying bespoke automation and control systems across the food and manufacturing industries. With over 40 years of experience, they provide full in-house design, build, and installation of electrical systems—supporting major brands and global manufacturing groups.

They are now looking for an experienced Electrical Panel Wireman / Installation Engineer to join their team on a contract. The role will be split between workshop-based panel wiring and on-site work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Panel Wiring: Build and wire electrical control panels from schematic drawings within the workshop
  • Installation: Carry out site-based installation of control panels and associated machinery
  • Modification: Perform electrical modifications and cable installations on existing systems
  • Testing: Undertake basic electrical testing and checks prior to commissioning
  • Cabling: Cable pulling and terminations as required during site works
  • Ensure all work is completed safely, accurately, and to high technical standards

The Successful Candidate Requires:

  • Recognised Electrical Qualification (Apprenticeship / NVQ Level 3 / Equivalent)
  • Experience in panel building, machine wiring, or electrical installation
  • Competent in reading and interpreting electrical schematics
  • ECS card
  • Background in manufacturing, automation, or engineering industries beneficial
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to integrate well into an established team
  • Flexibility to travel and work away from home when required (expenses covered)
