BIM Technician - Water & Wastewater Infrastructure

We're recruiting an experienced BIM Technician to join a major UK water infrastructure alliance delivering over half of a large water company's capital investment programme. With AMP8 ahead, this is an excellent opportunity to secure long-term work on complex, high-impact water and wastewater projects.

You'll play a key role in producing intelligent 3D BIM models that support safe, efficient and sustainable infrastructure delivery. If you're confident using Revit and Plant 3D and want to develop your career in the water sector, we'd like to hear from you.

The role

As a BIM Technician, you'll support multidisciplinary design teams by producing accurate, compliant and well-structured models for water and wastewater treatment assets.
You'll be responsible for:

  • Creating, updating and maintaining 3D BIM models using Revit and Plant 3D

  • Developing pipework, ductwork and layouts in line with project specifications and standards

  • Incorporating design information, specifications and supplier data into models

  • Supporting health & safety and CDM considerations within designs

  • Ensuring models comply with BIM, information management and data standards

  • Working to agreed programmes and delivering high-quality outputs to deadlines

  • Supporting model coordination and visualisation using Navisworks and Recap

  • Collaborating closely with engineers, designers and wider project teams

  • Contributing to continuous improvement and the adoption of new digital tools

  • Supporting low-carbon, efficient design solutions wherever possible

About you

You'll be a practical, detail-focused BIM professional with experience working on infrastructure or utilities projects.
Essential experience:

  • Strong working knowledge of Revit and Plant 3D

  • Experience producing 3D models and drawings for water or wastewater infrastructure

  • Understanding of BIM standards and processes (e.g. ISO 19650, PAS 1192)

  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications

  • Collaborative approach with strong communication skills


Desirable:

  • HNC, HND, degree or equivalent in engineering or a related discipline

  • Experience across mechanical and/or civil design

  • Working knowledge of Navisworks and Recap

  • Familiarity with CDM regulations and design safety principles

  • Contract: 12-month rolling up to 5 years but possibility for longer.
  • Rate: Up to 500 per day (Inside IR35, DOE)
  • Location: Hybrid - Peterborough (2 days every two weeks)
  • Expenses: Mileage and accommodation reimbursed, plus 25 per night allowance
