We are looking for a reliable, hardworking, and proactive Premises Assistant to support the day-to-day running and maintenance of our school site. You'll work closely with the Site Manager to ensure that the school is a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for pupils, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:

Assist with the opening and closing of the school premises

Carry out basic maintenance, repairs, and DIY tasks

Monitor the condition and security of the buildings and grounds

Set up rooms and furniture for assemblies, exams, and events

Support the cleaning team and ensure high standards of hygiene

Check and maintain stock of site-related supplies and equipment
-
Respond promptly to site issues and emergencies

Help supervise contractors and report any health & safety concerns
Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Previous experience in a caretaking, maintenance, or facilities role (school experience desirable)

Basic practical skills (DIY, minor repairs, manual handling)

A strong sense of responsibility and attention to detail

Good communication and teamwork skills

Willingness to be flexible with working hours when needed

A positive, proactive attitude and pride in maintaining high standards

A valid Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)
