We are looking for a reliable, hardworking, and proactive Premises Assistant to support the day-to-day running and maintenance of our school site. You'll work closely with the Site Manager to ensure that the school is a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for pupils, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the opening and closing of the school premises

  • Carry out basic maintenance, repairs, and DIY tasks

  • Monitor the condition and security of the buildings and grounds

  • Set up rooms and furniture for assemblies, exams, and events

  • Support the cleaning team and ensure high standards of hygiene

  • Check and maintain stock of site-related supplies and equipment

  • Respond promptly to site issues and emergencies

  • Help supervise contractors and report any health & safety concerns

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Previous experience in a caretaking, maintenance, or facilities role (school experience desirable)

  • Basic practical skills (DIY, minor repairs, manual handling)

  • A strong sense of responsibility and attention to detail

  • Good communication and teamwork skills

  • Willingness to be flexible with working hours when needed

  • A positive, proactive attitude and pride in maintaining high standards

  • A valid Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)
