Vision for Education is seeking to appoint a Learning Support Assistant to work in a specialist alternative provision in Peterborough. This is a full-time role beginning in January 2026

About the role

We’re looking for a calm, nurturing Learning Support Assistant to support within this well-resourced, specialist provision in Peterborough. The perfect candidate will have the ability to remain calm and professional in potentially stressful situations, have strong behaviour management skills due to the complex nature of the students' additional needs. This post would suit a patient, caring and calm individual with a passion for supporting children who have struggled in education and are looking for a fresh start.

About the school

The school is a highly successful specialist school with pupils aged up to 16 with a broad range of SEN and behavioural challenges. They have a thorough approach to treating every pupil as an individual through their flexible and holistic curriculum.

Requirements

To be considered for the role of Learning Support Assistant you will:

To have experience or knowledge of working with children and young people with additional needs

To be able to communicate effectively within a team

To be flexible, proactive and patient
