Our client, a leading groundworks and civil engineering contractor with over 25 years of experience, is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team covering sites across Nottingham/ Newark-on-Trent and sown to Huntingdon when not on site will be based in their office outside Leicester. With a turnover exceeding £250 million and over 1,500 employees, they operate nationally, delivering high-volume residential groundwork packages for some of the country's most respected housebuilders.

This position would suit an experienced Assistant Quantity Surveyor ready to step up, or an established Quantity Surveyor with a background in groundworks or residential construction.
Quantity Surveyor Job Overview- Managing all project costs from tender through to final accounts
- Preparing and reviewing tenders with the estimating team and identifying value engineering opportunities
- Monitoring and managing variations, claims and client instructions
- Managing subcontractor procurement, payments and final accounts
- Maintaining cash flow and ensuring timely payments and valuations
- Reporting regularly on cost/value reconciliations and forecasting
- Working closely with site teams to understand project progress and risks
- Building strong relationships with client commercial teams and suppliers
- Mentoring and developing junior members of the team as required
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a Quantity Surveying role (either as Assistant QS or QS)
- Background in residential groundworks preferred, although general residential construction experience will be considered
- HNC/HND/Degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management
- Strong numerical, commercial, and contractual knowledge
- Excellent Excel skills and familiarity with cost reporting tools
- Effective communicator with good organisational ability
- Clean UK driving licence and willingness to travel to sites as required
- Salary: £33,000 - £55,000 DOE
