The Role

This is a great opportunity to step into a technical leadership while remaining hands-on with exciting, large-scale infrastructure projects. I am working with an industry leader withing Civil engineering. They're seeking a Principal/Associate EICA Electrical Engineer to join a forward-thinking EICA team, helping shape sustainable, resilient solutions across the water and utilities sector.

As a Principal/Associate EICA Engineer, you'll lead on the design and delivery of major electrical infrastructure schemes, working closely with public authorities and industry partners. Your expertise will cover:

  • HV and LV electrical design across water, power and energy projects.

  • Electrical layouts for substations (AIS/GIS up to 400kV), cable routes, switchrooms, control rooms and site earthing.

  • Detailed design and specification of industrial electrical installations, including lighting, power distribution, switchgear, control systems and ancillary services.

  • Supporting and mentoring junior engineers, while being a client-facing technical lead.

This role offers a clear pathway to senior management, with the chance to influence strategy while continuing to deliver innovative engineering solutions.



About You

  • Chartered or Incorporated Engineer (IET), or working towards chartership.

  • Degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering.

  • Proven experience with consultancies, utilities or contractors in primary electrical design.

  • Strong understanding of BS7671:2018, ENATS, NGTS, BS50522, BS7430 and G81 standards.

  • Proficiency with design tools such as Amtech/Trimble ProDesign, Dialight and Revit.

  • Excellent communication, leadership and teamwork skills.

  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationwide with occasional overnight stays.
