If this sounds like you, we have an incredible opportunity for a Qualified SEN Teacher to join a dedicated SEN school in Peterborough. We are seeking an inspiring and experienced professional who is enthusiastic about creating a positive and engaging learning environment for students with special educational needs. This is a supply role with the potential for long-term placement.
Your Role and ResponsibilitiesThis is more than a job; it's a chance to be a key part of our students' growth and success. You will:
- Plan and Deliver Tailored Lessons: Design and implement creative, differentiated lessons that meet the diverse needs of students with a range of SEN, including learning difficulties, autism, and social, emotional, and mental health needs.
- Assess and Monitor Progress: Use a variety of assessment methods to track student progress, provide constructive feedback, and adapt your teaching to ensure every student reaches their full potential.
- Create a Nurturing Environment: Foster a classroom culture where students feel safe, respected, and motivated to learn. You will manage behavior positively and promote emotional well-being.
- Collaborate with a Multidisciplinary Team: Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and other professionals to provide holistic support for students and develop comprehensive support plans (EHCPs).
- Engage with Parents and Carers: Communicate regularly and effectively with families, building strong partnerships to support student learning and development both in and out of school.
We are seeking an experienced and empathetic teacher with a genuine passion for SEN education. The ideal candidate will have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): A recognised teaching qualification is essential.
- SEN Experience: Significant experience working with children with a variety of special educational needs, preferably within an SEN school environment.
- Strong Communication Skills: The ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents, and to work collaboratively as part of a friendly, professional team.
- A Positive Attitude: A proactive, resilient, and creative mindset, with a talent for celebrating every small victory and adapting to challenges.
- Knowledge of the UK curriculum and experience in adapting it for students with special needs.
