To support the Technical Department in ensuring all aspects of product manufacture comply with required quality standards, legislation, product specifications, and HACCP procedures.

Responsibilities:

Team Leadership & Supervision

  • Instruct and supervise QC operatives to ensure their daily duties are performed efficiently and accurately.
  • Support and deputize for the Technical Manager on daily technical matters.
  • Manage QA Supervisors, including oversight of holiday scheduling and general team coordination.

Quality & Compliance Management

  • Maintain a cost-effective quality function within the poultry factory.
  • Ensure all food safety and quality standards meet customer and legislative requirements.
  • Conduct internal audits including:
  • Hygiene/GMP
  • Glass and Plastic
  • Internal Quality Management Systems (QMS)

Training & Development

  • Train and develop quality team members to meet both individual and company needs.

Customer & Supplier Liaison

  • Work with customers and suppliers to monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Liaise with the distribution team to ensure positive release procedures are followed and that the necessary information is shared promptly.

Reporting & Analysis

  • Monitor and report on factory quality performance via weekly summary reports.
  • Track and evaluate KPIs to inform continuous improvement.

Product & Process Management

  • Collaborate with the Product Development Technologist to ensure smooth implementation of new products.
  • Take specific management responsibility for the use and cost control of cleaning chemicals on site.

General Expectations

  • Demonstrate flexibility by undertaking any other duties reasonably requested by senior management, provided appropriate training and competence.
  • Set a high standard of behaviour and never condone poor practices under any circumstances.

Salary negotiable depending on experience

Monday - Friday 8 hours
