Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Finance Assistant to support day-to-day financial operations on a on a 1-year fixed term contract basis, with the potential for extension or becoming permanent. This is a full-time role (40 hours per week) and fully office based.
Finance Assistant - About The Role
This role involves managing financial transactions, bank reconciliations, journal postings, and providing support with reporting, compliance, and stakeholder communications. The successful candidate will work closely with the Bursar/COO in a dynamic school environment.
The successful Finance Assistant will have:
- Experience with bank transactions, reconciliations, and credit card postings.
- Strong knowledge of accounts payable processes including purchase ledger and VAT compliance.
- Ability to post and manage journal entries and support month-end and year-end processes.
- Comfortable communicating with parents, staff, and external stakeholders.
- Experience in processing expenses and working with financial software (Xero).
- Strong Excel skills and attention to detail.
- AAT Level 3 or above, ACA, ACCA or equivalent (or working towards a qualification) desirable.
- Prior experience in a school environment is an advantage.
- High level of discretion and professionalism.
- Must have own transport.
