Overview

My client, a leading operation in its field, are seeking a highly skilled and experienced, Group Financial Accountant to join their team. This is your opportunity to work for an established and long running local family business based in North Yorkshire.

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing monthly management accounts, reporting on investment and property portfolios, and supporting the Family directors in managing the Group's property and investment portfolios. This role will also involve working on acquisitions and integrating newly acquired businesses into Group reporting.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare monthly management accounts for the Group
  • Report on investment and property portfolios
  • Assist with the preparation of Family Board reports
  • Prepare monthly management accounts for newly acquired businesses
  • Support on capital projects and daily Group cash reporting
  • Assist with management of property portfolios and preparation of tax work
  • Support the preparation of year-end budgets and forecasting
  • Assist with the annual audit process for the Group
  • Act as the main Finance contact for Family directors
  • Cover other functions/roles when required
Qualifications

Essential:

  • Fully Qualified accountant ideally, however my client will consider QBE, with experience in month-end Management accounts preparation
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • High level of initiative and organization
  • Familiarity with computer systems
  • Ability to work autonomously and under pressure to strict deadlines

Desirable:

  • Good excel skills, ability to manipulate complex sets of data
  • Previous experience with Sage Line 1000
Day-to-day
  • Prepare monthly management accounts
  • Report on investment and property portfolios
  • Assist with the preparation of Family Board reports
  • Support on capital projects and daily Group cash reporting
  • Assist with management of property portfolios and preparation of tax work
  • Support the preparation of year-end budgets and forecasting
  • Assist with the annual audit process for the Group
  • Act as the main Finance contact for Family directors
  • Cover other functions/roles when required
