Engineering Programme Manager - Electrical

Location: Devonport, Plymouth (hybrid, 3 days on-site per-week)
Contract Length: 6 months +
Rate: Negotiable (Inside IR35 - Umbrella)

The Role

The role is accountable for end-to-end programme delivery - from planning and governance to execution, reporting, and stakeholder management. You will lead an integrated team of project professionals and collaborate closely with engineering, production, safety, quality, and operations stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and performance-manage a cross-functional project delivery team.

  • Establish programme governance, reporting, and controls.

  • Engage with senior stakeholders.

  • Manage budgets, risks, schedules, and change controls.

  • Produce monthly performance reports and escalate issues as needed.

  • Drive continuous improvement and operational excellence across all programme activities.

Required Experience

  • Strong track record delivering large, complex programmes (preferably within nuclear, defence, or regulated industries).

  • Full project lifecycle management, from initiation to completion.

  • Broad awareness of contracting methodologies and lifecycle requirements.

  • Stakeholder management at senior level within complex organisations.

  • Knowledge of programme delivery on a Nuclear Licensed Site (desirable).

Qualifications

  • Degree or HNC in Engineering, Technical or Business discipline (or equivalent experience).

  • Chartered or working towards Chartership in Engineering or Project Management.

  • APM PMQ (or equivalent project management qualification).

  • APM Risk Management L2 (desirable).
