CNC Setter and Machine Operator!

A well-established Engineering and Industrial Manufacturing organisation is seeking a CNC Setter and Machine Operator to join its Plymouth-based facility.

Wise Employment, are looking for a CNC Setter and Machine Operator to join a fantastic company based in Plymouth.

This opportunity, is a Full Time Permanent position where you will be offered a salary between £30,222 - £32,689 per annum, along with some fantastic benefits such as:  A 4½ day working week, 25 days’ holiday + Bank Holidays, career development and much more!

Your working hours are: 38.25 per week.  Monday - Thursday 8.5 hours per day (start time either 7.15 - 4.15 or 8.15 - 5.15) and Friday 4.25 hours (either 7.15 - 11.30 or 8.15 - 12.30).

The Role

The successful candidate will set and operate CNC and manual machines, including lathes, mills, and drill presses, producing components to precise engineering specifications. The role involves working closely with the machine shop team to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set and operate CNC lathes and machining centres
  • Operate manual lathes, milling machines, and drill presses
  • Inspect components to ensure quality and accuracy
  • Follow health, safety, and quality procedures
  • Support production teams as required

Requirements

  • Proven experience in CNC and manual machining
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Experience using precision measuring equipment
  • Basic FANUC programming knowledge (desirable)
  • Computer literate with a strong understanding of health and safety
  • Good communication, attention to detail, and a proactive attitude
