Electrical Design Engineer - Environment
Location - Plymouth
Key Accountabilities:
- Provide technical compliance and quality on design outputs.
- Assist project team in seeking optimal solutions/efficient designs that balance capital and operational cost benefits.
- Adhere to procedural governance.
- Working as part of the Design team to ensure scheme designs adhere to client specifications and standards.
- Working as part of the Design team to ensure full compliance with relevant Health, Safety and Environmental Legislation.
- Technical problem solving throughout the project life cycle (e.g. from concept design through to final construction support), moreover, to ensure that potential issues are identified, mitigated and or safely managed through technical governance and risk and opportunity management.
- Assist with pre-contract design activities where required.
- Actively working towards accreditation with professional bodies (e.g., ICE, IET, IMechE, IChemE).

About you:
- Proficient with AMTECH.
- Proficient with AutoCAD/Draftsight.
- Proficient in generating electrical installation packs, including but not limited to cable calculations, single line diagrams, cable block diagrams, termination details, cable schedules & communication networks.
- Proficient in developing control philosophies, URS and FDS documents (where applicable) to client briefs and specifications.
- Proficient in generating LV earthing schematic.
- Knowledge of C&G 2382-18 BS7671 18th Edition Wiring Regulations & NICEIC Electrical Installation Certificates.
- Educated to Degree level in Engineering or other equivalent qualification.
- Chartered with/or Member of professional Engineering body - preferable but not essential.
- Proficient in a contracting / consulting environment, with commercial awareness.
- Good Communication and Stakeholder management skills.
- Good IT skills - with experience of using Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
- Provide leadership, direction and encouragement to junior members of the design team.
