Section Engineer


Location: Plymouth - Devonport Project (full-time site based)
Rate: c450 per day (Umbrella PAYE)
Contract: Contract role
Hours: 45 hrs per week (approx. 07:30-17:00)



Role Overview


We are seeking an experienced Section Engineer to support a major construction programme on the Devonport project. Working within a live MOD environment and reporting to the WRB / Building Lead, you will provide day-to-day engineering and setting-out support on site.
BPSS security clearance required (can take up to 8 weeks). Candidates must have lived in the UK for the past 5 years and hold a NATO or MISWG passport.



Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and update as-built drawings and drawing registers
  • Set out works and maintain dimensional control within tolerances
  • Provide engineering support and resolve technical queries
  • Record inspections, tests, and workmanship (e.g. concrete, drainage, piling)
  • Monitor progress against time, quality, and quantity
  • Maintain calibration records for setting-out equipment
  • Prepare site sketches and record instructions


Experience Required

  • Experience in a Section Engineer or similar site-based engineering role
  • Civil engineering qualification or equivalent desirable
  • Valid CSCS (White), SSSTS
  • Experience working in live or regulated environments preferred
  • Working towards ICE / IStructE chartership advantageous
