Our client is a leading industrial process & manufacturing company, with a reputation for product quality which is second to none and industry leading standards. They are looking for a charismatic, driven Electrical Technician to join their expanding team.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine, corrective, and breakdown maintenance of electrical, ICA, PLC, and combustion systems
- Implement and follow a preventive maintenance plan to ensure optimal plant performance
- Diagnose and repair faults in instrumentation and control systems
- Maintain compliance with ISO9001 and ISO14001 standards and all relevant safety legislation
- Support other engineering and maintenance activities as needed
- Use the CMMS system for work order management, reporting, and materials sourcing
- Lead and support plant improvement initiatives focused on electrical and ICA systems
- Conduct risk assessments and apply safe systems of work at all times
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including providing maintenance reports and shift handovers
Key Skills & Qualifications
- Completed electrical engineering maintenance apprenticeship (Indentured or NVQ Level 3 with BTEC or equivalent)
- Hands-on experience in maintaining fixed industrial plant and equipment, ideally in a heavy industry setting
- Familiarity with pumps, mills, burners/furnaces, welding, and chemical processing systems is advantageous
- Strong IT skills for inventory management and work order reporting
- Experience with combustion systems, PLCs, and control instrumentation preferred
- Full UK driving license required
Technical & Personal Skills:
- Understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic, PLC, and Variable Speed Drive systems
- Knowledge of ISO9001 standards regarding instrument calibration
- Proficient in applying Health & Safety regulations, risk assessments, and lone working practices
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small, flexible team
- Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement (e.g. 5S, Root Cause Analysis, KPI management)
- Willingness to undertake additional training across mechanical, control, and process systems
