Job overview:

Reporting to the Shipping Compliance Leader, the Shipping Administrator directs and communicates all import and export shipments from the facility, ensuring all necessary documentation is in place for transportation movements. This role includes managing parcel shipments, ensuring proper documentation, and arranging collections with
suitable couriers.

Additionally, the Shipping Administrator handles all customs requirements for import and export shipments, including Inward Processing (IP) requirements, and manages raw material deliveries in collaboration with the raw materials team. They monitor material import status, track progress, update metric reports, and attend team meetings to
communicate delivery statuses, assign delivery slots, and arrange container collections and
deliveries with hauliers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To satisfy all the legal customs requirements associated with imports and export transportation.
  • To ensure that Finished Goods are shipped to customers in line with the requirements of the European and Plymouth planners and that all products are correctly invoiced.
  • To ensure that all shipments are correctly documented and suitable filing systems are maintained.
  • To instigate any shipment improvements to ensure accuracy and reduce costs whenever possible.
  • Preparation of contingency plans in the event of a major disruption in any port.
  • Organisation and control of European shipments to the teams; planning container requirements, maintaining good communication links and maintaining a supplier metric to monitor quality, service and delivery performance.
  • Ensures a safe environment for container movements, liaising with facilities and contractors to ensure a safe operating environment and maintain continued shipping operations.
  • Monitor and communicate shipping errors and damage reports, investigate and correct errors, identifying and acting on continuous improvement opportunities.
  • To keep up to date with customs import and export terminology, procedures and documentation requirements and communicate and implement changes as required in line with the client quality procedures.
  • To prepare correct import and export documentation in a timely manner to avoid delays and excess duty payments.
  • Responsible for documentation for import and export Inward Processing requirements including checking all customs entries for accuracy to adhere to any special customs procedures.
  • Manages the parcel shipments from the client facility, ensuring correct documentation is in place and arranging collection by a suitable courier.
  • Ensure all SAP transfers are completed for the transfer of product from the SAP system to the BDBEN4 LOTS system.
  • Responsible for the shipment of 'Qiagen' finished product as requested including completion of all necessary documentation, SAP and finance requirements.
  • Monitors material import status and tracks progress, updates metric reports and attends team meetings to communicate status of deliveries.
  • Liaise closely with support groups, i.e. Goods In Inspection, production planners and the Goods In teams in all aspects relating to material imports and deliveries.
  • Communicate effectively with customs brokers and suppliers to ensure compliance
