- Be the first point of contact for HR queries from managers and staff
- Manage and triage the team inbox
- Draft correspondence and collate HR data into clear, presentable formats
- Support HR colleagues in handling attendance, performance, grievance, and probation cases
- Liaise effectively with internal teams, managers, trade unions, and the police federation
- Use HR systems and tools confidently to track and manage cases
- Experience in an HR environment supporting people management
- Strong attention to detail and IT skills (e.g., drafting letters, data collation)
- Ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple deadlines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to use initiative and work independently as well as part of a team
- Resilient and confident in handling challenging situations
- Previous experience using HR systems and reporting tools
- Knowledge of attendance, performance, grievance, and probation policies
