Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and effective lessons in humanities subjects, including history, geography, and social studies.

  • Develop a comprehensive curriculum that fosters critical thinking, creativity, and a love of learning.

  • Utilise a variety of teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.

  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.

  • Encourage students to develop a deeper understanding of historical events, geographical concepts, and societal issues.

  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to curriculum development.

  • Organise and supervise extracurricular activities, such as field trips and clubs related to humanities subjects.

  • Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment.

Qualifications and requirements:

  • A degree in a humanities-related field (e.g., history, geography, literature, and social studies).

  • Qualified teacher status (QTS) is essential.

  • Eligibility to work in the UK.

  • Experience working in an alternative provision is desirable.
