About the Role
Are you passionate about giving children the best possible start in their education journey?
We’re looking for a caring, enthusiastic and proactive EYFS Teaching Assistant to join our nurturing Early Years team in and around Plymouth.
You will work alongside experienced staff in a Reception or Nursery class, supporting children in their learning, development, and play.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young children and wants to make a real impact in a warm and welcoming school community.
Key Responsibilities-
Support the class teacher in delivering high-quality early years education and care

Work with small groups and individual pupils, helping to meet their learning and developmental needs

Assist in planning, preparing, and organising engaging play-based activities

Observe and record children’s progress, contributing to learning journals and EYFS assessments

Promote positive behaviour and ensure a safe, inclusive learning environment

Help with setting up and tidying the classroom, including indoor and outdoor area
What We’re Looking For Essential:

Experience working with children in an EYFS setting (Reception or Nursery)

Good understanding of the EYFS framework and child development
-
A nurturing, patient and flexible approach
-
Strong communication and teamwork skills
-
A commitment to safeguarding and supporting the wellbeing of all pupils
-
A relevant childcare or education qualification (e.g. Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, Early Years Educator)

Paediatric first aid certification
-
Experience working with children with SEND

Salary
£95 - £100 per day.
