People Manager – Plymouth – £29k–£35k – Full Time – Permanent – Hybrid/Remote

Well Placed HR have once again been assigned to assist our client based in Saltash, who are currently seeking an experienced People Manager to join their team. This very well-established and highly successful service provider has recently moved into impressive new offices and continues to be a leader in the industry. Having experienced years of sustained growth, the company is now gearing up for its next phase of success.

This new role has been created to further enhance the positive employee and customer experience, ensuring that everyone is supported to perform at their best. Working closely with department managers, the People Manager will lead performance management by supporting colleagues with setting targets, assisting with professional development plans, and monitoring performance through PIPs. The overall goal is to drive operational effectiveness and mentor key employees.

Reporting to the Head of Services, the successful candidate will:

  • Lead the people management function across one of the departments
  • Partner with department heads to effectively manage their teams
  • Provide and support meaningful reviews with team members, monitoring progress and identifying areas for improvement
  • Support the creation and implementation of Personal Development Plans (PDPs)
  • Work closely with staff on professional career goals and explore pathways for progression
  • Act as the first point of contact for all absence matters, including record keeping and developing action plans to support colleagues with absence management
  • Assist with annual leave planning and authorising requests
  • Manage all recruitment processes for the team

This role would suit candidates with experience managing teams of twenty or more people, who have hands-on line management experience and a strong background in performance and development management.
