Are you an experienced operations leader ready to make a significant impact in a fast-paced, high-energy environment? Our client, a global leader in parcel delivery, is looking for an Operations Manager to join our Plymouth team. This is an exciting opportunity to oversee and optimise the day-to-day operational activities, leading a team and ensuring the efficient delivery of parcels across our network.

As an Operations Manager, you will be at the heart of ensuring operational excellence, managing resources, and driving continuous improvements. This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong background in logistics and operations management, seeking a role with leadership responsibility and room for growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee the operational activities of the Plymouth site, ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of parcels.
  • Manage a team of shift managers, operatives, and support staff to ensure peak operational efficiency.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimise operational performance, improve productivity, and reduce costs.
  • Monitor and evaluate key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure targets are met and exceeded.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and regulatory standards, promoting a culture of safety and accountability.
  • Collaborate with other departments and teams to enhance service delivery, improve processes, and troubleshoot any operational issues.
  • Oversee resource management, including staffing levels, shift planning, and equipment allocation to ensure operational requirements are met.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, implementing innovative solutions and process enhancements to streamline operations.
  • Report on operational performance to senior leadership, offering insights and recommending improvements to optimise efficiency.

  • Proven experience in operations management, ideally within the logistics, distribution, or parcel delivery sector.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams to meet operational goals.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to overcoming operational challenges.
  • Ability to analyse data, monitor performance, and make informed decisions to optimise operations.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with other departments and senior management.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices within logistics operations.
  • Experience in implementing process improvements and driving efficiency in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility to work Monday to Friday, from 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
