We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Planning Manager to join our team as part of our succession planning strategy. Reporting to the Operations Director, the Planning Manager will play a crucial role in implementing and maintaining demand planning and production scheduling to ensure operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
Day-to-day of the role:- Develop, implement, and monitor production plans to achieve On Time In Full (OTIF) delivery for customers.
- Oversee the production planning processes to ensure efficient workflow and resource allocation.
- Collaborate closely with the Manufacturing team to assess and forecast demand, aligning production plans with sales targets.
- Utilize ERP systems to optimize supply chain operations and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Work with the supply chain team to monitor inventory levels and adjust production schedules to meet demand.
- Analyze historical data to improve forecasting accuracy and develop reliable sales forecasts and revenue plans.
- Manage the training, development, performance management, and daily supervision of the Planning team.
- Coordinate production plans based on capacity and material readiness.
- Seek out and implement continuous improvement initiatives related to manufacturing capacity and inventory optimization.
- Manage respective supplier and customer relationships and performance.
- Degree level qualification in Business Management, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of factory planning methodologies and integrated ERP systems.
- Proven experience in a production planning or supply chain management role within a Manufacturing environment.
- Experience with system integration, reporting tools, and demand forecasting software.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; expertise with SAP, particularly in Production Planning, Materials Management, and Advanced Planning & Scheduling modules, is desirable.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, supply chain management, and inventory control.
- Experience in lean manufacturing and/or Six Sigma methodologies would be an advantage.
- Proven leadership skills with a flexible and dynamic approach to managing change.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with employees, stakeholders, and customers.
