Are you an experienced leader seeking a new opportunity in a fast-paced logistics environment? Our client, a global leader in parcel delivery, is looking for a Shift Manager to oversee and lead a team of 7 operatives and a transport clerk at our Plymouth site, located in the stunning Ocean City.

As a Shift Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring smooth, efficient, and timely operations while managing a team dedicated to delivering exceptional service to our customers. With regular Monday to Friday hours and no weekend shifts, this is the ideal role for someone seeking a great work-life balance!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of 7 operatives and a transport clerk, ensuring they meet daily operational targets.
  • Oversee parcel sorting, dispatch, and delivery operations to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
  • Monitor performance and resolve any operational challenges or delays to maintain smooth workflows.
  • Ensure strict compliance with health and safety policies and regulations.
  • Provide coaching, training, and support to team members, helping them develop and succeed in their roles.
  • Manage staffing levels, ensuring appropriate resources are available to meet customer demands.
  • Work closely with other departments to maintain seamless operations across shifts.
  • Report on team performance and suggest improvements to optimise efficiency.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven experience in a leadership role within logistics, distribution, or a similar fast-paced environment.
  • Strong ability to manage and motivate a small team to achieve high productivity and morale.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make quick decisions.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a busy, time-sensitive environment.
  • Knowledge of health and safety standards and best practices within logistics.
  • Flexibility to work Monday to Friday, from 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
  • A customer-centric approach with a focus on meeting operational targets.
