Solicitor - Marine Department
Red Recruitment is looking for an experienced, qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive to join our client, an award-winning multi-disciplinary law firm, as part of their Marine Department.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience in or an interest of the marine sector. The successful candidate should have 3+ years PQE as well as excellent research and analytical skills to service our wide range of marine clients.
Our client takes a forward-thinking approach to training, which has included obtaining sailing qualifications and attending training to become qualified commercial fishermen. The Department considers that the key to empowering staff is to give them tools to help them excel professionally.

Key Responsibilities of a Solicitor
- Advise clients on a wide range of marine related issues
- Attend relevant shows and events to network and engage with clients.
- Draft, review, and negotiate legal documents, pleadings, witness statements, and settlement agreements.
- Conduct legal research and provide clear, strategic advice to clients on the marine sector
- Liaise with clients, counsel, and third parties to progress matters efficiently and maintain strong client relationships.
- Supervise and support junior team members where appropriate, fostering knowledge-sharing and professional development.
- Ensure compliance with firm policies, risk management procedures, and professional standards.
- Play an active role in the continued growth and development of the Marine Department.
Key Skills & Experience of a Solicitor
Experience: Applications are encouraged from Solicitors/Legal Executives of around 3 or more years PQE or equivalent experience with a background or interest in the marine sector.
