What You'll Do:

Planning, Record-Keeping, Assessment, and Reporting

  • Create Inspiring Lessons: Plan engaging and differentiated lessons that meet objectives and statutory requirements.
  • Track Progress: Use assessment tools like iTrack to keep detailed records and inform future learning.
  • Communicate with Parents: Share children's progress during consultations and through end-of-year reports.
  • Support Evaluation: Prepare records to assist in moderation, monitoring, and evaluation.

Teaching and Learning

  • Lead the Classroom: Teach, supervise, and ensure the pastoral care of your class, managing all related duties.
  • Set Goals: Establish and monitor class and individual targets for improvement, ensuring excellent progress.
  • Engage Students: Use a variety of teaching styles to cater to different learning preferences.
  • Create a Positive Environment: Maintain a tidy and stimulating classroom that encourages learning.
  • Provide Feedback: Mark and support children's work to help them progress.
  • Celebrate Achievements: Create displays that highlight and celebrate children's learning and self-esteem.
  • Promote Independence: Organize resources clearly to encourage student independence.
  • Follow Policies: Adhere to school policies and the code of conduct.
  • Partner with Parents: Work closely with parents and carers to support children's development.
  • Ensure Safety: Safeguard the health and safety of children in the classroom and around the school.

General Duties

  • Participate Actively: Join in duties and assemblies as directed.
  • Engage in Development: Take part in staff meetings and INSET, showing a commitment to professional growth.
  • Collaborate: Work effectively with other staff, including teachers and support staff.
