Process Engineer - Advanced Manufacturing

Location: Southwest UK
Salary: 40,000 - 45,000
Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Are you an experienced Process Engineer with a passion for high-speed automation and precision manufacturing? We're recruiting for a key engineering role in one of the Southwest's most technically advanced production facilities, supporting the manufacture of millions of life-saving medical devices every year. This is an excellent opportunity to play a vital role in improving efficiency, driving innovation, and contributing to meaningful global impact.



The Role

As Process Engineer, you will take ownership of production technology and maintenance processes for designated product lines. You'll lead root cause investigations, resolve breakdowns, and drive process improvements using structured problem-solving techniques. The role requires strong analytical thinking, a proactive mindset, and a hands-on approach to operational performance.



Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and update performance data on focus lines, generating initiatives to improve throughput and return lines to optimal performance

  • Identify and resolve bottlenecks and quality issues through data analysis and systematic problem solving

  • Direct shift teams based on data insights from MES, PAB, and VOA systems

  • Drive centre-lining activities and implement poka-yoke (error-proofing) solutions

  • Lead safety, quality, and waste reduction initiatives across production areas

  • Support continuous improvement (CI) and validation projects

  • Contribute to maintenance planning by feeding back findings to the Reliability Leader

  • Coach and support teams on the application of continuous improvement methodologies

  • Respond to breakdowns when required and ensure sustainable solutions are implemented



What We're Looking For

  • HNC or Degree in Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in technical or manufacturing roles

  • Background in high-speed automated assembly and packaging environments

  • Confident decision-maker with excellent troubleshooting skills

  • Experience with root cause analysis and structured problem-solving methods

  • Understanding of Quality Systems and manufacturing safety practices

  • PLC experience is advantageous but not essential

  • A strong team player who can collaborate and coach effectively across functions
