Teaching Assistant – Specialist Support for PMLD and Medical Needs

Position Summary: We are looking for a compassionate and resilient Teaching Assistant to join our team, providing specialist support to children with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD) and medical needs. This role involves assisting with daily educational activities and supporting complex medical needs. Comprehensive training for most medical procedures will be provided.

Main Duties:

  • Assist in the delivery of tailored educational activities for pupils with PMLD.
  • Support pupils with their medical needs, following training and guidelines.
  • Monitor and record pupil progress and well-being.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other staff to create a supportive learning environment.
  • Apply a Trauma Informed approach in all interactions.

Qualifications:

  • Experience working with children with SEN, particularly PMLD, is desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and resilient in challenging situations.
  • Willingness to undergo training for medical procedures.
  • A commitment to supporting the mental health and well-being of pupils.
