We’re looking for a dedicated and adaptable individual to join our team as a Teaching Assistant, working across a variety of classrooms and supporting pupils with diverse needs. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, is resilient in the face of challenges, and is passionate about helping every child succeed.

As a Teaching Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in supporting learning and ensuring all pupils have access to the curriculum. You’ll work closely with teaching and senior staff—primarily in the classroom—to provide both academic and pastoral support. While most of your time will be spent in the classroom, there may be occasional opportunities to support learning in other settings.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Supporting Learning:

  • Work with small groups or one-to-one with pupils, including those with special educational needs.
  • Help pupils understand instructions and engage with learning activities.
  • Encourage independence and positive interaction among pupils.

Supporting the Teacher:

  • Prepare the classroom for lessons and assist with displays.
  • Provide clerical support such as photocopying, filing, and record-keeping.
  • Monitor pupil progress and report back to the teacher.

Supporting Pupils:

  • Attend to personal care needs and implement individual support programmes.
  • Promote inclusion and respond to individual needs with empathy and professionalism.
  • Supervise pupils to ensure their safety and well-being.

Supporting the School:

  • Uphold policies on safeguarding, health and safety, and data protection.
  • Participate in training, meetings, and school activities, including trips and lunchtime supervision.
  • Contribute to the school’s ethos and collaborate with other professionals.

This is a varied and rewarding role that requires flexibility, patience, and a genuine commitment to supporting young people.This role is looking at a start date in September, but it could be sooner for the right person and dependant on notice period.
