Who will you be joining?

A leading UK specialist in industrial flooring solutions, based in Featherstone, Yorkshire. They are known for their innovative use of laser screed technology and provide comprehensive design and build services for high-quality industrial floors nationwide. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a well-established and growing company within the construction industry. This full-time, office-based role at their Head Office in Featherstone (commutable from Pontefract, Castleford, Normanton, Wakefield, and surrounding areas) offers a stable Monday to Friday schedule with working hours from 8:00 to 16:30.

What will you be doing?

You will be joining the team as a Bookkeeper, initially working alongside the current incumbent to ensure a smooth handover before taking full responsibility upon their retirement in January next year. Your core responsibilities will include: accurate and timely processing of purchase and sales invoices using Sage Accounts, nominal account balancing, trial balance verification, preparing draft Profit & Loss accounts, and submitting VAT returns.

You will also manage weekly/monthly payroll using Moneysoft, handle payroll journals and HMRC payments, maintain financial and operational spreadsheets, manage the Fixed Assets Register, record worker attendance, and maintain vehicle records. Additionally, you will assist with the annual stock take, manage purchase orders, arrange staff accommodation, and oversee the bookkeeping for three separate businesses within the group.

Why would you be a good fit?

You will be an experienced Bookkeeper with a proven track record and possess strong practical knowledge of Sage Accounts software. Crucially, you will have experience processing payroll (ideally with Moneysoft) and a solid understanding of payroll and VAT regulations. Your proficiency in Microsoft Excel, coupled with a good grasp of basic accounting principles, will be essential.

You will demonstrate excellent attention to detail, strong organisational and time management skills, and the ability to work independently while also being a collaborative team player. Good communication skills and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion are also vital. Ideally, you will hold an AAT qualification (or be part-qualified) and have experience with multi-company accounts and/or within the construction sector.
