A client is seeking two experienced Quantity Surveyors with a house-building background to join their team in Wakefield. This role is crucial to ensuring the financial success of residential construction projects, working across all project stages-from pre-construction to completion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cost Estimation - Assess project drawings/specifications to calculate material, labour, and equipment costs.
  • Budget Management - Track and manage project budgets to ensure financial accuracy.
  • Procurement - Source and negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Contract Administration - Assist with contracts, assess variations/claims, and ensure compliance.
  • Value Engineering - Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
  • Risk Management - Monitor and mitigate financial and operational risks.
  • Cost Control - Implement measures to track and optimise spending.
  • Final Account Settlement - Ensure payments and accounts are finalised upon project completion.


Essential Requirements:

  • Proven track record in house-building quantity surveying.
  • Minimum 5 years of quantity surveying experience.
  • A valid CSCS Card.
  • A relevant degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
  • A UK driving licence.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to liaise with site teams, suppliers, and clients.
