The School and Role

Empowering Learning is working closely with a large sen school in pontefract wf7 that are looking to appoint Unqualified SEND Teaching Assistant

The desired Unqualified SEND Teaching Assistant will have.

One-on-one or group support: Working directly with individual pupils or small groups, often those with Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs).

Adapting learning materials: Preparing and modifying resources and learning activities to meet students' diverse and individual needs, often in collaboration with the class teacher.

Supporting well-being: Looking after the children's physical, social, and emotional welfare and promoting positive behaviour in line with school policies.

Monitoring progress: Observing, recording, and reporting on student progress, attainment, and any barriers to learning to teachers, parents, and other professionals.

Collaboration: Liaising with teachers, the Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO), parents, and external professionals such as speech and language therapists.

Creating an inclusive environment: Encouraging interaction and acceptance of all pupils and helping to build positive, trusting relationships.

Safeguarding: Ensuring the safety and well-being of all pupils in line with statutory safeguarding guidance and school policies.
