Electrical Maintenance Technician

Location: Pontyclun

Salary: £40k plus 20% shift allowance for night shift

Contract Type: Permanent

Shift Pattern: Rotating Days & Nights

Key Responsibilities:
Diagnose and repair electrical faults on PLCs, drives, control panels, and automation systems.
Conduct planned and reactive maintenance across AC/DC drives, motors, and control systems.
Work on hydraulic and pneumatic machinery to ensure optimal performance.
Minimise downtime and optimise equipment reliability in coordination with production teams.
Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with health and safety standards.

Skills & Experience Required:
Time-served or qualified in Electrical Engineering (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
Proven experience in industrial or manufacturing environments.
Strong fault-finding ability on electrical systems; PLC experience preferred (Siemens/Allen Bradley).
Knowledge of AC/DC drives, motors, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
Comfortable working on rotating days and nights shifts.
Strong communication skills and a proactive, team-focused mindset.
