We have a fantastic opportunity for you to work for the Royal Mint as Tour Guides and Retail staff based in Llantrisant, South Wales, CF72 8YT. We are looking to employ a number of Tour Guides to work a minimum of 6 hours per week at The Royal Mint Experience, a prestigious company steeped in History.
**The Royal Mint Experience are looking to fill multiple positions both in leading guests on Site tours, assisting members of the public including families and children in the shop. **
Typical working hours and Payrate:
- You will be required to be flexible and be able to work between Monday to Sunday, including evenings, on a Rota based system.
- Part-time hours: Minimum 6 hours per week
- Variety of contracts/hours available.
- Pay: £12.21 per hour
Key Accountabilities:
- Embrace the idea of 'the team' and actively work to ensure the success of the attraction. A conscientious attitude, ability to follow the script given and be open to receiving feedback from the management team.
- Ensure you are always punctual, ready to start working at the time your shift starts.
- Ensure the highest standards of presentation are maintained throughout the attraction.
- Be courteous and professional to guests.
- Observe and report to the General/Duty Manager immediately any incidents which may affect the presentation, other employees, or guests of the visitor attraction.
Purpose of the Job:
- Escorting guests around the facility and any other ad hoc duties required.
- Leading Guests on tours
- Ensure that all guests and potential guests at the attraction always receive the highest level of customer service
Person Specification:
Essential:
- Experience in retail, using tills, stock replen
- Energetic, Happy, outgoing
- Ability to engage members of the public
- Ability to gather an audience and public speaking
- Outstanding Customer Service
- Commitment and passion to learning
- Creativity and Enthusiasm
- A flexible, hands-on, can-do approach
- Initiative and positivist

- Personable, presentable and highly professional
- Able to work weekdays, weekends, school holidays and evenings as required
Desirable
- Experience in amateur dramatics
- Previous Experience of working in the Tourism Sector
- Experience in group management to maintain tight booking times
- Ability to speak a foreign language
- Awareness of health and safety
- Storytelling/ Interest in History
