We at Robert Half are supporting a trusted client in the third sector in their recruitment of a Temporary Assistant Accountant to join their team in Torfaen. This is a hybrid role and the successful applicant will live within a commutable distance to their offices and be immediately available for the opportunity. This person must have worked within a similar role recently and ideally be AAT level 3 qualified or higher.

Duties:

  • Carry out monthly reconciliations for cost centres, including preparing and posting accruals/prepayments, performing variance analysis, and identifying potential budget savings or overspends.

  • Produce internal cost centre reports for budget holders, engaging with them to ensure they understand their financial position and can manage their budgets effectively and on time.

  • Compile financial data (actuals and forecasts) for inclusion in reports.

  • Provide accurate and timely financial information.

  • Contribute to the annual budget and audit processes by supplying relevant information.

  • Support monthly payroll by preparing payroll journals and bank payment files.

  • Assist the Management Accountant in preparing balance sheet reconciliations and cashflow reports.

  • Work collaboratively with the Finance Team to improve processes and ensure the delivery of a high-quality, comprehensive service.

  • Review and monitor finance processes within your remit, recommending or implementing changes where needed.

  • Undertake other ad hoc tasks as required.
