Have you had experience working in a hands-on, practical environment? Do you have health and safety qualifications? Are you looking to step into an exciting health and safety focused role? If the answer is yes, then this is the perfect opportunity for you!

I am currently recruiting on behalf of a client of mine for a Health and Safety Manager. As a Health and Safety Manager, you will take a hands-on approach to drive and implement a positive health and safety culture across multiple sites. You will be responsible for implementing new plans and policies to improve health and safety standards, as well as providing training for staff.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement health and safety policies to ensure compliance with most up to date legislation.
  • Oversee all elements of health and safety across multiple sites within the business.
  • Provide training to staff in relation to health and safety standards, and take initiative to develop and drive a positive health and safety focused culture within the business.
  • Create and implement traffic management plans for sites in relation to HGV and other large vehicles.
  • Complete health and safety site checks, as well as accident and near-incident reports.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Experience working in a hands-on environment, the ideal candidate will have experience working in a role where they need to take initiative and drive positive change.
  • NEBOSH/IOSH qualifications are essential.
  • The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in a Site Manager style role, who has taken a lateral step to focus on a health and safety career.
  • The ideal candidate will have experience working with heavy machinery and vehicles, with experience developing traffic management plans.
  • Experience from the construction industry would be valuable for this role and preferred.
