Our client is focussed on delivering high-quality, delicious products to customers nationwide. Their success is built on a seamless supply chain—and we’re looking for a talented Procurement and Supply Chain specialist to join their team in Pontypool.

You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth, efficient, and cost-effective flow of materials and products from suppliers to customers. You’ll work closely with procurement, production, logistics, and planning teams to optimise supply chain processes.

Responsibilities of Supply Chain Coordinator:

  • Planning and scheduling deliveries and production to achieve targeted stock levels, ensuring immaculate customer service levels
  • Effectively manage orders and controlling stock
  • Report on any slow moving stock and delivery performance from suppliers
  • Bring new ideas to improve processes, policies and procedures
  • Manage the agreed preferred supplier list, working with senior management to support cost savings on raw materials
  • Order and manage stock of PPE, consumables and other hygiene products needed on site
  • Work closely with the production and logistics team to streamline supply and minimise downtime
  • Review and set target stock levels using sales and forecast data
  • Create daily goods plans, monitoring performance, stock and downtime of the factory to maintain suitable planning based on history, trends and demand

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Must have Buying / Purchasing experience, preferably within a food manufacturing environment
  • Previous exposure of cost analyst work and budget management
  • Desirable of familiarisation in using ERP systems
  • Ability to work in a busy environment at a consistent pace and manage timely tasks under pressure
  • Excellent IT and computer skills, proficient across Microsoft platforms
  • Ability to work well in a team as well as on own initiative
  • Working to deadlines efficiently, with high attention to detail
