Job Title: Technical Calibration Manager

Our client is a trusted name in the calibration and repair of test equipment across the aerospace, engineering, automotive, and manufacturing sectors. They are proud of their high standards, technical expertise, and commitment to excellence.

We are looking to appoint a Technical Calibration Manager to take responsibility for the capability, competence, and performance of our calibration laboratory. The role includes overseeing the test and calibration of a wide range of measurement equipment and ensuring full compliance with relevant standards and traceability requirements.

The ideal candidate will have a background in mechanical engineering and an understanding of the application and the use of calibration equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
• Manage the day-to-day operations of the calibration lab
• Ensure adherence to UKAS and BSI standards
• Oversee testing and calibration procedures across a variety of instruments
• Maintain traceability, documentation, and compliance with relevant quality systems
• Support the training and development of technical staff
• Identify and implement process improvements

What We're Looking For:
• A recognised engineering qualification (preferably a BSc in Mechanical Engineering)
• Experience in mechanical calibration and use of calibration equipment
• Strong knowledge of test/calibration procedures and traceability requirements
• Familiarity with UKAS and BSI standards
• Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently, take initiative, and remain self-motivated
• Strong team collaboration and communication abilities
• Comfortable with manual handling of test equipment (as required in the laboratory)
