Talent finance are partnering with a market leader in distribution and logistics to recruit an Operations Director. This is a career-defining opportunity for a results-driven operational strategist to oversee customer management, warehouse and distribution strategy, and national and international transport & logistics.

As Operations Director, you will lead and inspire teams across Distribution Warehouse, Customer Account Support, and International Logistics, ensuring service excellence and continuous improvement. You’ll be responsible for developing and executing strategic plans, setting KPIs, managing budgets, and driving operational efficiencies across all functions.

In this role you will:

  • Lead the development, evaluation, and delivery of the operations strategy in alignment with business growth plans.
  • Oversee the daily performance of the distribution network, ensuring goals, targets, and service levels are consistently met.
  • Optimise warehouse operations through stock management, space utilisation, and cost-saving initiatives, maintaining a safety and quality-first culture.
  • Implement robust international logistics strategies for import/export, ensuring compliance with global trade regulations and customs requirements.
  • Identify and develop partnerships with 3PLs and 4PLs, supporting growth in new and existing markets.
  • Monitor performance, analyse productivity, and drive continuous improvement across the supply chain.
  • Anticipate risks such as geopolitical issues, foreign exchange fluctuations, and supply chain disruptions, creating proactive mitigation strategies.

We’re looking for someone with:

  • Senior operational leadership experience within FMCG, Distribution, Leisure, Hospitality, or related industries.
  • Proven ability to manage large teams, complex budgets, and multiple operational streams.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain, logistics, and warehouse management best practices.
  • Expertise in export compliance and international trade regulations.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
