We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our client's team. Working within an interesting physical gaming company with on-line products to purchase.
The ideal candidate will have proven experience working with Shopify and Xero.
You will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and handling all aspects of bookkeeping, including VAT returns, reconciliations, and expense tracking. An immediate priority will be to assist with getting a backlog of invoices processed with a tidy-up of COGS (Cost of Goods Sold) and ensure our clients records are up to date and accurate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain day-to-day financial transactions, including purchases, receipts, payments, and petty cash.
- Manage and reconcile Shopify sales data via integration software tool into Xero.
- Perform regular bank and control account reconciliations.
- Handle cash takings and petty cash reconciliation.
- Prepare and submit VAT returns in a timely and accurate manner.
- Assist in cleaning up and managing a backlog of COGS releases in Xero.
- Ensure all financial records are up-to-date, accurate, and compliant with relevant regulations.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a similar bookkeeping role.
- Proficiency in Xero and e-commerce system is essential.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
- Experience with VAT preparation and submission.
- High attention to detail with strong organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills a plus.
Desirable:
- Experience in eCommerce or retail finance is highly advantageous.
- Familiarity with inventory accounting and COGS tracking.
