Outreach Teaching Assistant
Prospero Teaching are looking for an enthusiastic Outreach Teaching Assistant to join a fantastic 'Good' Ofsted-rated SEMH School located in Poole, Dorset, supporting pupils with SEMH/ADHD/Autism.
This is a great opportunity to help enrich and develop childrens lives whilst improving attendance and attitudes towards learning.
As an Outreach Teaching Assistant, you will be involved in undertaking learning activities both on-site and off-site, working 1:1 or in small groups with pupils of varying abilities. This includes:
- Preparing and adapting resources to ensure differentiation and access to the curriculum.
- Delivering activities in classroom settings, sometimes without a class teacher present, with the support of a teaching assistant.
- Identifying and risk-assessing suitable off-site venues for learning activities.
- Monitoring and conducting dynamic risk assessments during off-site activities, taking necessary actions to address any risks based on student engagement and external factors.
Please Note: Due to the nature of the role, you will be required to travel to off-site locations regularly. Therefore, it is essential that you own a car and hold Business Car Insurance. Mileage will typically be reimbursed according to school or agency policy.

- Full Time/Part Time: Full-Time
- Daily Pay Rate: 22,000-25,000
Experience, Training and Qualifications Required:
- Previous experience in education is preferred, ideally within the SEN sector, although this is not essential if you have the right attitude and a desire to support students with additional needs.
- Previous experience working with challenging behaviour is advantageous.
- A passion for working with children with SEMH needs.
- Proactive and energetic approach to working within varied environments, including off-site settings.
- Level 3 Qualifications / ELSA Qualifications / Degree desirable.
To Be Eligible You Must:
- Hold Right to Work in the UK
- Hold a Full UK Driving Licence, own a car, and have Business Car Insurance (essential for off-site activities)
- Hold an Enhanced Child Barred List DBS certificate registered with the update service or be willing to apply for a new one
- Provide two professional child-related references
