We are now seeking a CNC Machine Shop Team Leader to join our dynamic team in Poole.

This is a pivotal leadership role, responsible for driving performance, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and ensuring the safety and success of your shift team.

As the CNC Machine Shop Team Leader, you will be the driving force behind your shift’s success.

You’ll lead a team of skilled machinists, ensuring optimal use of resources, maintaining high standards of safety, and delivering against key performance indicators.

Your leadership will be instrumental in building a high-performing, motivated, and engaged team.

As our CNC Machine Shop Team Leader your key responsibilities will include:

Team Leadership & Development:

Lead by example, manage onboarding, set clear objectives, conduct appraisals, and identify training needs. Build a winning team culture focused on accountability, collaboration, and excellence.

Performance Management:

Monitor individual and team performance, manage absence and underperformance, and ensure all team members are competent and supported.

Operational Excellence:

Coordinate daily operations to meet production targets, maintain world-class on-time delivery, and ensure quality standards are met.

Continuous Improvement:

Champion Lean manufacturing principles, lead root cause analysis, and drive measurable improvements across processes and performance.

Health & Safety Leadership:

Ensure all safety protocols are followed, conduct toolbox talks, and maintain a safe working environment for all team members.

In order to be successful in this role you must have:

  • Proven experience in people management and team leadership within a machine shop or CNC environment.
  • Strong machining knowledge, including CNC programming and modern manufacturing techniques.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with the ability to lead under pressure.
  • Excellent communication, planning, and organisational skills.
  • A passion for continuous improvement and a commitment to health and safety.

Shift Pattern – Double Days

This role operates on a Double Days shift pattern, rotating every two weeks between early and late shifts:

Early Shift:

  • Monday to Thursday – 06:00 to 14:15
  • Friday – 06:00 to 12:00

Late Shift:

  • Monday to Thursday – 14:15 to 22:15
  • Friday – 12:00 to 19:30

This rotation ensures balanced coverage and operational continuity across the machine shop. As Team Leader, you’ll play a key role in maintaining consistency, performance, and team engagement across both shifts.
