Are you looking to make a positive impact in the lives of children with special educational needs? GSL Education are currently recruiting a Education Support Worker to support students in schools located in Poole.

Your responsibilities will include:
- Provide tailored academic and emotional support to students with moderate to severe learning difficulties, helping them engage fully with the curriculum.
- Assist in the delivery of lessons and therapeutic sessions, supporting access to resources like the hydrotherapy pool, multi-sensory rooms, and specialised therapy areas.
- Encourage the development of independence and life skills, guiding students through enrichment activities that promote confidence and self-esteem.
- Support a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment, in line with the school’s nurturing ethos and person-centred approach.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and families, contributing to planning and adapting learning strategies based on individual student needs.
- Observe and record student progress, providing regular feedback to the wider team to inform targeted interventions and ongoing development.
Candidate Expectations:
- Experience or interest in working with students with moderate to severe learning difficulties, preferably in an educational or care-based setting.
- A compassionate, adaptable, and patient attitude, essential for supporting students in a nurturing and inclusive environment.
- Willingness to engage in a wide range of activities, including sessions in hydrotherapy pools, multi-sensory rooms, and specialised therapy spaces.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate closely with teachers, therapists, and families to support individual learning plans.
- Commitment to promoting independence and personal growth, aligning with the school’s aim to build student confidence through enrichment activities.
- Understanding of safeguarding and student welfare, or readiness to undertake appropriate training to ensure the safety and well-being of all learners.
- Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
