Your responsibilities will include:

Provide tailored support to students with moderate to severe learning difficulties, helping them access learning in both academic and therapeutic settings.
Assist with the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs), working closely with teachers and therapists to meet specific developmental and educational needs.
Support students during sessions in specialised facilities, such as the hydrotherapy pool, multi-sensory rooms, and therapy spaces, ensuring comfort and safety.
Encourage student participation in enrichment activities, helping to build their confidence, independence, and social skills through a variety of hands-on experiences.
Maintain a positive, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment, promoting emotional well-being and personal growth for every learner.
Contribute to collaborative planning and regular progress reviews, sharing observations and insights with the wider staff team to support holistic development.

Candidate Expectations:

Experience working with children or young people with moderate to severe learning difficulties, or a strong willingness to learn and support diverse needs.
A nurturing and empathetic approach, aligned with the school’s commitment to inclusivity, respect, and holistic student development.
Ability to support a broad curriculum, including participation in therapeutic activities such as hydrotherapy, sensory-based learning, and enrichment sessions.
Strong communication and teamwork skills, essential for effective collaboration with teachers, therapists, and other staff members in a multi-disciplinary setting.
Flexibility and adaptability, with the capability to respond to individual student needs in a dynamic and supportive learning environment.
Understanding of safeguarding, confidentiality, and health & safety practices, or a willingness to undergo relevant training to uphold student well-being.
